I am a compassionate integrative counsellor, working with adults, children, and young people, including neurodivergent adults, children and young people. I work collaboratively and at the client’s pace, adapting my approach to their individual needs, communication style, interests, and way of experiencing the world.
My work is underpinned by person-centred values. I aim to create a safe, welcoming space where clients feel understood, accepted, and able to express themselves in ways that feel natural and comfortable for them.
I particularly enjoy working creatively and believe that play, art, drawing, storytelling, and imaginative activities can provide valuable ways for children and young people to explore and communicate their thoughts, feelings, and experiences. I follow each individual’s lead, using approaches that reflect their interests and strengths rather than relying solely on verbal communication.
I currently work for a charity that provides support through play for children with physical and learning disabilities, including autistic children, and their families. I also volunteer as part of a team of compassionate neighbours with Princess Alice Hospice. Through my work, I am committed to providing a warm, inclusive space where clients and their families feel listened to, respected, and supported.
I am available on Thursday afternoons from 4.30pm. Please contact me via Carol Belsey.
